Impact of CASIS Intervention Program to Increase Elementary School Students’ Motivation and Performance in Writing

In collaboration with educators and professionals from a local school board, we developed and implemented a professional development program (CASIS) for elementary school teachers meant to improve student’s motivation and performance in writing. CASIS program has four training units: 1. the fundamentals of the theoretical framework, 2. practices that foster students’ motivational resources, 3. identifying the challenges they face when using the five teaching practices, and 4. developing the teachers’ skills to use the five teaching practices.
