SMOP: Systematic Measurement of Progress During the Early Years of School

Helping children experience early learning success and acquire essential skills by third grade is a crucial part of any school reform effort. By using systematic measurement of progress (SMOP), teachers are able to identify a small set of crucial learning outcomes, keep track of student progress in all the domains of early childhood, respond to the specific needs of children, stay focused, avoid feeling rushed, and have time to develop positive behaviors and bring joy into the classroom.
