Visible Writers–Visible Learners: Every Narrative Has a Problem and a Solution

Working around the world with Visible Learning, we have noticed there is a shared problem: underachievement in writing. Students who know where they are going, how they are doing, and where to go next are learners who take control of their own learning and embody assessment capable learners, but what do they look like in a writing classroom? How do teachers develop these learners? This workshop examines the key teaching strategies from the research and illustrates how they can be applied in the writing classroom to accelerate student achievement.
