Just posted this in the News section - Chris Pyne is keen to overhaul the Australian curriculum with "our Asian competitors" in mind.

I'm not so sure that curriculum is the most important driver when it comes to the job market, even on an international scale. Plenty of careers require more than a history of top marks.

Learn to use a competency framework that allows you to identify the essential learning outcomes in all the domains of early childhood. Help kids know what is important to learn, and help teachers keep track of student learning more precisely, so they can plan instruction to help every child build the crucial foundation skills.

Hello! I Would like to know how did Mr Hattie and his team collect data about teacher credibility, teacher-student relations, feedback and other factors of influence in his research? Did they use qualitative methods, (interview, questionaires video observations)? Thanks in advance Kind regards, Bernadett

Can the simple effect size...

Can the simple effect size formula (avg post - avg pre)/(avg of stdev) be used when comparing standardized tests given annually (given that they are very similar)? Or what about for ones given a few times per year, like NWEA MAPs benchmark tests? When I try to use these tests I get very low effect sizes. Any advice?
